Our client is a leading mining services organisation with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality maintenance and operational solutions to the resources sector. Due to continued growth and a focus on expanding workshop capability, they are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Workshop Manager to lead a large, high-performing team based in Perth.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a proven workshop leader who enjoys building capable teams, developing strong stakeholder relationships and identifying opportunities to grow and improve a workshop business.

With a Monday to Friday roster and no FIFO required , this role provides the opportunity to build a rewarding long-term career while enjoying the benefits of being home each night with family.

About the Role

Reporting to senior management, the Workshop Manager will take ownership of the safe, efficient and commercially successful operation of a large workshop.

You will lead a diverse workforce of approximately 150 employees and play a key role in driving operational performance, strengthening customer relationships and identifying opportunities to grow the workshop’s internal and external service offering.

This role will suit a proactive and commercially astute leader who can balance strategic thinking with strong operational execution.

Key Responsibilities





- Provide visible leadership across all workshop operations, ensuring safety, productivity, quality and customer service remain key priorities
- Lead, mentor and develop a medium-to-large workforce of approximately 150 employees
- Foster a strong safety culture and maintain a safe, compliant and productive working environment
- Drive workshop performance through effective planning, supervision, resource allocation and operational management
- Identify and present initiatives to senior management that support business growth, operational improvement and increased workshop capability
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers and external partners
- Apply strong commercial acumen to support sustainable workshop performance and profitability
- Monitor operational performance and respond effectively to changing priorities and business requirements
- Promote accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement across the workshop
- Support the development of a positive, high-performing culture focused on safety, quality and delivery

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Demonstrated experience managing a large workshop, maintenance operation or comparable operational environment




- Proven experience leading medium-to-large teams, ideally in the vicinity of 150 employees
- A self-starter mindset with the confidence to identify opportunities and present growth initiatives to senior leadership
- Strong commercial understanding and experience managing the operational performance of a large workshop
- A demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong leadership and supervisory capability, with a focus on developing safe, productive and accountable teams
- A proven commitment to creating and maintaining safe working environments
- The ability to operate with urgency and respond effectively to changing operational circumstances
- Solid problem-solving, planning and decision-making capability
- Diverse maintenance experience will be highly regarded
