About Us

McLaren Vale Veterinary Surgery is a well-established small animal practice located in the beautiful McLaren Vale wine region, just 40 minutes south of Adelaide.

Our team consists of four veterinarians and eight experienced nurses and support staff who work together in a respectful, collaborative environment. We are proud of our positive workplace culture, supportive leadership and low staff turnover.

We practice a high standard of medicine and surgery and have a strong focus on continuing education and investing in modern equipment.

Our services include:

- Advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery (including TPLOs and fracture repairs)

- Extensive reproductive services including in-house progesterone testing, artificial insemination and caesarean sections

- Comprehensive dentistry with digital dental radiography

- Abdominal ultrasound and advanced diagnostic imaging

- Endoscopy and video otoscopy





- In-house pathology

- Genuine continuity of care for our patients

Our nurses are highly valued members of the clinical team and are encouraged to fully utilise their skills.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced veterinary nurse who enjoys all aspects of nursing and would like to be actively involved in patient care.

Depending on your interests and experience, your role may include:

- Surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring

- Hospital patient care and treatment

- Nurse consultations

- Assisting with diagnostic imaging

- Laboratory procedures

- Dental procedures

- Inpatient nursing and intensive care

- Client education and communication

- Assisting with reproductive procedures

Every day is different, and our nurses are encouraged to continually expand their knowledge and skills.

About You

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being a veterinary nurse and wants to be part of a supportive, professional team.

You will ideally have:

- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)

- Previous experience working as a veterinary nurse

- Excellent anaesthetic monitoring and patient care skills

- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

- Excellent communication and client care





- A positive, team-focused attitude

- The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment

- Confidence using initiative while recognising when to seek assistance

- A commitment to providing the highest standard of patient care

- A desire to continue learning and developing professionally

Experience with ezyVet is advantageous but not essential.
