What if education wasn’t about covering content, but uncovering potential?
At Lyn Beazley Academy, we believe young people learn best when they are curious, challenged and connected to the world around them.
We are an innovative independent secondary school for autistic young people in Years 7–12, where learning is built around authentic relationships, real-world experiences and meaningful projects. Every day, our students are encouraged to understand themselves, contribute to their community and develop the confidence to create their own future.
As we launch our partnership with the CoRE Learning Foundation, we are seeking an exceptional educator to help establish an innovative STEAM program that connects science, technology, engineering and mathematics with authentic inquiry, industry partnerships and community impact.
This is more than a teaching position.
It is an opportunity to help build a model of education that prepares young people not just for further study or employment, but for life.
About the Role
Working alongside our teaching team, the CoRE Learning Foundation, Curtin University and industry partners, you will design and facilitate rich learning experiences where students investigate real-world problems, work with experts, engage in field investigations and develop solutions that make a genuine difference.
Rather than simply delivering lessons, you will cultivate curiosity, guide inquiry and support students to become increasingly capable, confident and independent learners.
This role offers the opportunity to help shape curriculum,
build partnerships and contribute to an educational model that continues to evolve through reflection, collaboration and innovation.
We’re Looking for Someone Who…
You are an educator who believes learning should have purpose.
You know that the best questions often matter more than the quickest answers.
You enjoy designing learning experiences that challenge students to think deeply, collaborate with others and apply their learning in authentic contexts.
You are excited by the chance to work beyond the classroom, build partnerships with universities and industry, and create experiences that inspire students to discover what they are capable of.
Whether your background is in Science, STEAM, Engineering, Environmental Science, Technology or another related field, you are passionate about helping young people develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for an uncertain and rapidly changing future.
You’ll Bring
- A recognised teaching qualification and eligibility for teacher registration in Western Australia
- Experience teaching Science, STEAM or related curriculum areas
- A strong understanding of inquiry-based, project-based or experiential learning
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- The ability to design engaging learning experiences that connect curriculum with authentic contexts
- A collaborative approach and a willingness to contribute to curriculum innovation
- A commitment to inclusive practice and high expectations for every learner
Experience working with autistic young people, universities, community organisations or industry partners will be highly regarded but is not essential.
Why Join Lyn Beazley Academy?
At Lyn Beazley Academy, you will become part of a highly collaborative team committed to reimagining education.
You’ll work in partnership with the CoRE Learning Foundation, Curtin University and industry professionals to create learning that is meaningful, challenging and connected to the real world.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Help establish an innovative STEAM program from the ground up
- Teach small class groups, working within a genuine multidisciplinary support team
- Work alongside passionate educators who value collaboration and continual improvement
- Access professional learning and mentoring through the CoRE Learning Foundation
- Develop authentic partnerships with universities, researchers and industry
- Make a genuine difference in the lives of autistic young people
Our Vision
We believe education is about more than academic achievement.
It is about cultivating understanding, developing capability and creating pathways for every young person to belong, connect and make an impact.
If you are excited by the chance to help shape what education can become, we would love to hear from you.
