We have an excellent opportunity for a Project Safety Officer to join our team!

As a commercial construction head contractor, we are committed to the highest level of safety on our sites and as such require the knowledge, skills, and experience of a dedicated safety officer to support our projects.

We are looking for a Project Safety Officer who is hands-on and experienced at supporting high-risk activities in the commercial building sector. This is a site based role that will rove between our projects to support their safe and successful delivery.

To be considered for this role you will have:

- Hands-on experience (commercial building)

- Sound knowledge and understanding of the implementation of relevant WHS legislation and requirements

- A trade background with trade qualifications

- Valid driver’s licence

- First Aid Certificate

- Advanced communication skills with the ability to communicate and influence all levels of the workforce

- Computer skills (intermediate) MS Office preferred

- Ability to work autonomously and effectively as part of a team.





Key responsibilities of the role will include:

- Supporting the Site Manager (s) in the management of work health and safety on-site

- Developing respectful and productive relationships with the workforce to improve both safety knowledge and performance

- Providing project teams with mentoring, coaching and support in the implementation of the company’s work, health and safety management systems

- Supporting the project safety induction process for workers on site including reviewing SWMS and JSAs

- Monitoring, tracking and reviewing our safety system to ensure all incidents are recorded, investigated thoroughly and closed out

- Monitoring subcontractor compliance to include on-boarding of workers prior to site mobilisation

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is genuinely passionate about health and safety and who thrives on communicating with workers on-site about their health and safety.

This role will be coached and mentored by the company's Safety and Systems Manager who is a well-respected, grass roots, industry veteran.

A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated dependent on knowledge, skills, and level of experience.
