About the Role
Join a leading civil construction contractor with a solid reputation for delivering infrastructure, earthworks, dewatering and maintenance projects across Western Australia.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this Perth-based role plays a key part in supporting the commercial success of projects from contract award through to close-out. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Finance, HSEQ, subcontractors and clients, you'll oversee contract administration, procurement, payment claims, variations and commercial compliance while helping to protect project profitability and contractual entitlements.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Administration & Governance
- Administer head contracts and subcontracts from award through to close-out in accordance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
- Maintain contract registers, including correspondence, notices, variations, claims, approvals, securities, insurances and close-out documentation.
- Prepare, issue and manage contractual notices and commercial correspondence within required timeframes.
- Ensure accurate document control and maintain commercial records to support audits and contractual compliance.
Subcontracts & Procurement
- Prepare RFQs, scopes of work, tender evaluations, recommendations and subcontract award documentation.
- Administer subcontract progress claims, variations, extensions of time (EOTs), disputes, performance reviews and final accounts.
- Work closely with project teams and finance to monitor commitments, costs and forecast project expenditure.
Claims, Variations & Commercial Support
- Identify and assess scope, time and cost impacts arising from project changes, delays and variations.
- Prepare and submit client variation claims with supporting documentation in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Maintain change registers and supporting evidence to protect commercial entitlements and improve claim visibility.
Payments, Reporting & Close-Out
- Prepare and support client payment claims, ensuring submissions meet contractual requirements and deadlines.
- Assist with project reporting, cash flow forecasting, commercial risk reviews and performance reporting.
- Support final account negotiations and contract close-out, including warranties, defects management and release of securities.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in contract administration within civil construction, infrastructure, earthworks, dewatering, utilities, maintenance or similar project environments.
- Strong knowledge of head contracts, subcontracts, payment claims, variations, EOTs, contractual notices and final accounts.
- Ability to interpret contract documentation and prepare explicit, accurate commercial correspondence.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong document control and contract administration capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Current Australian C Class Driver's Licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Highly regarded:
- Qualification in Contract Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Commercial Management, Business, Commerce or Law.
- Experience working on mining, resources, infrastructure or Tier 1 contractor projects.
