We are recruiting qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanics for several established transport companies, truck dealerships and independent workshops across Australia.
Opportunities are currently available across Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia and Tasmania, including metropolitan and regional locations.
These roles are suited to experienced mechanics with strong knowledge of European heavy vehicles who can confidently undertake servicing, diagnostics and mechanical repairs in a professional workshop environment.
The opportunities
Depending on your experience and preferred working environment, available positions may include:
- Truck dealership workshops
- Independent heavy-vehicle repair workshops
- Transport and logistics fleet maintenance
- Mobile and field-service positions
- Metropolitan and regional opportunities

Key responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults
- Complete engine, transmission, driveline and differential repairs
- Repair and maintain braking, steering and suspension systems
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify vehicle faults
- Conduct inspections and identify additional repair requirements
- Complete major component repairs and replacements
- Perform breakdown repairs when required
- Prepare accurate job cards, service records and inspection reports
- Follow manufacturer specifications and workshop procedures
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Communicate repair findings clearly to supervisors and customers
- Support apprentices and junior mechanics when required
European truck experience
Previous experience with one or more of the following brands will be highly regarded:
- Volvo
- Scania
- Mercedes-Benz
- MAN
- DAF
- Iveco
- Renault Trucks
Experience with trailers, buses, heavy transport equipment or American truck brands may also be considered.
Skills and experience
To be considered, you should have:
- A relevant heavy-vehicle mechanical trade qualification
- Previous experience servicing and repairing heavy trucks
- Practical experience working with European truck brands
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Knowledge of modern diesel engines and electronic systems
- Experience using computer-based diagnostic equipment
- The ability to complete work independently and efficiently
- Good attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
- A commitment to workplace health and safety
- Positive communication and time-management skills
- A current driver’s licence
A heavy rigid or heavy combination licence, air-conditioning licence, auto-electrical experience or manufacturer training will be highly regarded but is not essential for every position.
