About the role

Quality Care Disability Services Pty Ltd is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Care Officer to join our team in Orange, NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives within our residential care settings. As a Residential Care Officer, you will be at the heart of our service delivery, providing day-to-day support, encouragement and assistance to our clients whilst maintaining their dignity, rights and personal autonomy. This position is essential to our mission of delivering quality, person-centred disability support services.

- What you'll be doing

- Assessing clients’ needs and planning, developing and implementing educational, training and support programs.

- Interviewing clients and assessing the nature and extent of difficulties.

- Monitoring and reporting on the progress of clients.

- Referring clients to agencies that can provide additional help.

- Assessing community needs and resources for health, welfare, housing, employment,

- training and other facilities and services.

- Liaising with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies and private businesses about community issues and promoting awareness of community resources and services.

- Supporting families and providing education and care for children and disabled persons in adult service units, group housing and government institutions.

- Supervising offenders on probation and parole.

- Assisting young people to solve social, emotional and financial problems.

- Preparing submissions for funding and resources, and reports to government bodies and other agencies.

- Providing direct personal care and support to residents, including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, dressing and toileting

- Preparing and serving nutritious meals, considering dietary requirements and preferences of individual residents

- Assisting residents with medication management and ensuring compliance with prescribed health regimens





- Supporting residents with community participation, social activities and leisure pursuits to promote wellbeing and social connection

- Maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable residential environment that meets health and safety standards

- Monitoring and recording residents' health, behaviour and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to management or health professionals

- Supporting residents' independence by encouraging and facilitating self-care and decision-making where appropriate

- Building positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues, maintaining confidentiality and respect

- Following organisational policies, procedures and guidelines, including duty of care and safeguarding requirements

- Participating in training and professional development to maintain competency and best practice standards

What we're looking for

- Certificate III/IV/Diploma with 1 to 3 years full time or equivalent part-time previous

experience in a similar role.

- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain certification within the first three months of employment)

- Valid NDIS worker check

- Able to work Independently, as well as with a team.

- Good organisational and communication skills

- Excellent communicator and analytical thinker, with an ability to use data to inform all decisions.

- High level of flexibility and a positive approach to the challenging demands of high-growth outcome

- A commitment to safeguarding the rights, dignity and wellbeing of residents at all times

- Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia will be preferred.
