We are partnering with a well-established and respected irrigation and water management business seeking an accomplished Business Unit Manager to lead operations, develop people, strengthen client relationships and drive sustainable business growth. The Opportunity

Reporting to the executive leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the business, ensuring strong commercial outcomes across project delivery, client satisfaction, team leadership and financial performance.

This role extends well beyond day-to-day operations. We are seeking a commercially focused leader who can identify opportunities, improve business performance and cultivate long-term client partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the operational and commercial performance of the business

- Drive profitability through financial management, budgeting and cost control

- Manage P&L; performance and monitor business KPIs

- Develop and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships

- Identify and secure current business opportunities and market growth initiatives

- Oversee tender reviews, estimating and contract performance

- Lead project delivery to achieve programme, budget and quality outcomes

- Prepare and present performance, operational and financial reports

- Manage workforce planning, resource allocation and operational scheduling

- Build, mentor and develop a high-performing team culture

- Ensure compliance with safety,



quality and industry standards

- Contribute to strategic planning and business growth initiatives

About You

You are a commercially minded leader who understands that successful businesses are built on strong financial performance, exceptional client relationships and engaged teams.

You will bring:

- Proven leadership experience within irrigation, landscaping, civil, construction, utilities or related industries

- Strong business acumen with demonstrated P&L; responsibility

- Experience managing budgets, forecasting and financial reporting

- A track record of improving operational performance and business profitability

- Strong business development and client relationship management skills

- Experience managing tenders, contracts and commercial risk

- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement capability

- The ability to lead, motivate and develop teams

- Strong planning, organisational and reporting skills

- Technical irrigation experience is highly regarded but not essential for candidates with strong leadership and commercial experience.
