Centre Director – Lead with Purpose
Above Award Pay | Weekly Pay | Paid Birthday Leave | Family Owned
At Brady Bunch Early Learning Centres, we believe great centres are built by excellent leaders — leaders who put children first, know their team, set clear expectations and aren't afraid to be present in the everyday operation of their service.
We are looking for an experienced Centre Director / Nominated Supervisor to lead one of our Ballarat services.
As a family-owned organisation, our Directors are trusted to genuinely lead their centres. You'll have the autonomy to make decisions, develop your team and shape your service, while having access to an experienced broader leadership team when you need support.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can balance people, pedagogy, compliance and operations while creating a centre where children feel safe and connected, families feel confident, and educators know what is expected of them.
What Leadership Looks Like at Brady Bunch
Our Directors aren't expected to lead from the office.
You'll know what's happening across your centre, build relationships with your educators and families, spend time within the learning environments and step in when your team needs you.
You'll also set clear expectations and hold people accountable. We believe supportive leadership and accountability go hand in hand — our educators deserve fairness, consistency and leaders who are willing to have the conversations that help teams grow.
Above all, children's safety, wellbeing and sense of belonging come first.
Your Role
As Centre Director, you will:
• Lead, mentor and support educators to deliver safe, high-quality learning experiences.
• Build a positive team culture based on respect, fairness, communication and accountability.
• Ensure educators understand their responsibilities and actively contribute to the operation and culture of the service.
• Be visible and hands-on,
including supporting rooms and the broader service when needed.
• Develop fair and effective rosters that balance operational requirements, children's needs and educator wellbeing.
• Build solid relationships with children, families and the local community.
• Oversee the operational, financial and educational performance of your centre.
• Manage occupancy, budgets, fee collection, rostering and centre administration.
• Lead the Quality Improvement Plan and embed continuous improvement into everyday practice.
• Maintain strong compliance with the National Quality Framework, VEYLDF and regulatory requirements.
• Create and maintain a clean, organised and welcoming environment that reflects pride in the service.
• Lead proactively through incidents, concerns and regulatory matters with a strong reporting and child-safety culture.
You'll Have the Freedom to Lead — and Support Behind You
We don't believe every centre should look or operate exactly the same. Every team, group of children and community is different.
Our Directors are empowered to understand their service and lead accordingly, while maintaining the standards and values that underpin Brady Bunch.
You'll be supported through:
• Above-ratio staffing to support quality practice.
• Experienced operational and Area Manager support.
• A dedicated Pedagogy and Practice Leader.
• A network of fellow Centre Directors who share knowledge and support one another.
• Hands-on organisational support through Assessment & Rating and regulatory processes.
• Professional development aligned with your service and Quality Improvement Plan.
• Employee Assistance Program providing confidential support to our employees.
• Weekly pay, paid birthday leave and additional employee benefits.
You'll be trusted to lead your centre — but you won't be expected to do it alone.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced early childhood leader who:
• Holds a Diploma or higher ACECQA-approved Early Childhood qualification.
• Has demonstrated leadership experience as a Centre Director, Nominated Supervisor or experienced Assistant Director ready for the next step.
• Has strong knowledge of the NQF, VEYLDF and regulatory requirements.
• Understands that child safety is everyone's responsibility and leads accordingly.
• Is confident managing rostering, staffing, compliance and daily centre operations.
• Can build relationships while still having clear and sometimes difficult conversations when required.
• Leads fairly and consistently rather than avoiding accountability.
• Is organised, responsive and comfortable taking ownership of their service.
• Enjoys being visible and involved rather than leading solely from behind a desk.
• Wants to continue learning and developing as a leader.
A valid Working with Children Check is required, along with a National Police Check or willingness to obtain one.
Ready to Lead with Brady Bunch?
If you're looking for an opportunity where you'll have the autonomy to genuinely lead your service, the support of an experienced leadership team behind you and the opportunity to make a visible difference for children, families and educators, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply through SEEK with your resume and tell us a little about the leader you are and the kind of centre culture you want to create.
