ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter with welding experience to join our team service team in Thornton, Newcastle.
Few responsibilities but not limited to such
Duties will include maintenance & repair of Overhead cranes.
Take up winches and lifting equipment.
Work in the metro alongside our experienced Crane Technicians
To perform Take up winches Inspections, Wire rope Inspections, Wire rope replacements, Installation of recent winches and repair works
To perform repair work to cranes, Installations of cranes, hoists and materials handling equipment and from time to time other equipment in a professional and tradesman like manner.
Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and sub-assemblies to produce machines and equipment.
ABOUT YOU
Mechanical Trade
Dogging License or Rigging License.
Welding experience is essential.
Dogging or Rigging experience is highly preferred.
EWP/High Risk Ticket
Working at Heights ticket
Previous experience within the Crane Industry
Previous experience within the mine sites Industry
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to manage multiple tasks
Effective fault finding and troubleshooting to limit downtime and improve operational effectiveness
Must be well organized and show effective time management skills
Must have a current manual Driver’s License
Must be safety conscious and the ability to promote a secure environment
Sound Mechanical aptitude
Able to travel between various sites and follow site specific rules
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Full Time Permanent
Field Work
Travel required from time to time.
Work vehicle provided for work travel purposes.
38 hours work week with potential overtime.
Work standard time is 7am - 3.06pm (potential overtime including weekends)
