Sykes is looking for a hands-on Service Technician to join our Aftermarket Service team.
This role is ideal for a qualified Mechanical Fitter or experienced technician who enjoys fault finding, repairing, assembling and testing equipment. You’ll work on surface dewatering pumps and associated equipment used across mining, construction and industrial sectors.
What you’ll do
Service, repair and maintain dewatering pumps
Complete inspections, diagnostics and troubleshooting
Carry out pump testing and pre-delivery checks
Use hand tools, power tools, lifting and testing equipment safely
Support occasional field service work
Work as part of a practical, safety-focused team
About you
You will ideally have:
Mechanical trade qualification or similar experience
Experience with pumps, rotating equipment, heavy machinery or workshop servicing
Solid mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Positive attention to detail
Commitment to safety, quality and teamwork
Pump experience is highly regarded, but we’re also open to people with robust mechanical skills and the right attitude to learn.
