Job Description

The Senior Payroll Officer will be responsible for:
Support and guide payroll team members on technical payroll matters
Assist in coordinating workloads and maintaining accurate payroll cycles
Provide level‑two support for payroll queries and system troubleshooting
Ensure all pay runs are delivered accurately and on time
Maintain documentation, process guides and audit materials
Contribute to year‑end, month‑end and periodic reporting requirements




Participate in testing Payroll functionality and system upgrades
Identify training needs and support cross‑skilling within the team
Partner with HR, Finance, Reporting and Systems teams

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Payroll Officer should have:
Strong end‑to‑end payroll experience within a medium to large organisation
Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management capability
Robust governance mindset and high attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Experience with payroll software
Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation essential
