The Jacobs team delivers complex local and national projects for public and private clients across infrastructure and development activities. We seek an experienced ecologist based in Melbourne to support projects with a solid focus on flora, environmental monitoring and compliance.
Responsibilities
Mentoring and supporting junior staff.
Undertaking flora assessments (desktop, field survey, reporting).
Desktop review of flora and fauna databases and ecological modelling.
Field surveys (vegetation and habitat survey and mapping).
Impact assessment reporting.
Development of ecological management plans.
Advising clients on legislative and offsetting requirements (EPBC Act, FFG Act, P&E; Act).
Contributing to proposal and project opportunities, supporting delivery of ecology projects in collaboration with other disciplines.
Building strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
Required Skills and Experience
Degree in ecology, environmental science or related discipline.
7+ years of experience delivering ecologic projects in Victoria.
Advanced knowledge of Victorian flora and state & Commonwealth legislation.
Willingness to undertake fieldwork travel, including extended trips.
Proven report writing and Microsoft Office proficiency.
Excellent communication, organisational and time‑management skills.
Current driver’s license.
4WD training and experience or willingness to complete training.
Desirable Competencies
GIS skills (ArcGIS Pro, Field Maps).
Experience with current field survey technologies.
