Expression of Interest

HIA is currently seeking Expressions of Interest for the Bricklaying Job Ready Program (BJRP) in the Balga/Northern Suburbs area.

This is a free training and job‑preparation program designed to help participants become job ready and connect with bricklaying apprenticeship opportunities in the residential construction industry.

About the BJRP

The Bricklaying Job Ready Program is a 4‑week program that includes:
3 weeks of TAFE training, including White Card and basic bricklaying skills
4‑day industry work placement on a live construction site
Exposure to industry employers who may have apprenticeship or employment prospects
Successful completion of the program may lead to referral to apprenticeship or employment opportunities,



subject to suitability and employer needs.

Who Should Register Interest

This program may suit people who:
Are school leavers, career starters, people entering the workforce or a trade for the first time or people seeking a career change
Want a hands‑on, outdoor career in construction
Are interested in bricklaying as a career pathway
Live in or near the Balga / northern suburbs area or are willing to travel or relocate for training and work opportunities
Are motivated, reliable and ready to participate in both training and on‑site work placement
