Operations and Maintenance Technician – Mechanical

As an experienced Operations and Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) with SPIE Power Services, you will be part of the team at Telfer Power Station. Telfer Power Station supports two power stations: the Primary Power Station consists of 3 GE LM6000PC Open‑Cycle Gas Turbines and the Secondary consists of 3 Wartsila and 2 EMD Diesel Generator sets. The station supplies the Telfer Mine Site and associated facilities in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Responsibilities
Proactively maintain a protected working workplace.
Assist in plant start‑ups and shutdowns where required.
Perform routine, preventative,



corrective maintenance.
Effectively utilise provided systems, processes and resources to meet business objectives.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying improvements in maintenance activities and processes.
Conduct plant inspections and unit return‑to‑service walk‑downs.
Implement and achieve Worley HSE standards.
Assess risks and hazards involved in tasks and manage them to prevent incidents and injuries.
Identify and report details of all non‑conforming work to prevent future non‑conformances.
Develop with the work group JHA’s and risk assessments for tasks undertaken.

Requirements
Experience operating and maintaining gas turbine generators.
Previous experience within the power industry.
Mechanical aptitude.
Exposure to PLCs and Plant Control Systems.
High level diagnostic and fault‑finding capabilities.
