Overview
As Tableau Developer you will be responsible for serving as a technical resource for specific departments or functional areas. Developers work within their respective areas to develop and modify reports and dashboards, provide connections to recent and existing data sources, prepare data for use in Tableau, develop extracts, publish data sources and workbooks, develop custom scripts, coordinate releases of data and workbooks, as well as perform complex technical tasks. The role involves designing, developing, publishing, testing and troubleshooting dashboards and data sources, and acting as a secondary point of contact to communicate and coordinate with stakeholders including Functional Users, Tableau Admin Team, Database Administrators, and the Data Governance Team.
Responsibilities
Prepare data for use by Tableau.
Establish connections to data sources.
Add or create dimensions, measures and calculations.
Perform data modelling in Tableau Desktop.
Develop Workbooks and Hyper Extracts on Tableau Desktop.
Publish Workbooks and Data Sources to Tableau Development and QA sites.
Refresh Extracts on Development and QA sites.
Monitor the status of extract schedules on QA site.
Perform Unit Testing on Development and QA sites.
Resolve data or performance issues related to workbooks and data sources.
Catalogue measures and dimensions in Collibra.
Request access for Interactors and Viewers.
Follow up with Managers for required approvals.
Follow up with Interactors/Viewers to complete DocuSign attestations.
Obtain SVP/Chair/Dean approvals to request access for P4 dashboards.
Provide knowledge transfer and support to Interactors and Viewers.
Coordinate with Tableau Admin Team for Production Deployment.
