About the Role
Join the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) and play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high‑quality patient care. As a Patient Transport Officer, you’ll support people in your community by providing safe, qualified non‑emergency patient transport—helping patients move comfortably between home, hospitals, and specialist appointments.
Key Responsibilities
Perform patient assessment and intervention during road transport
Deliver protected, compassionate care aligned with RFDS clinical guidelines and NEPT regulations
Monitor patients and evaluate responses to treatment en route
Work collaboratively with a partner clinician in a team‑based model
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum qualification of Cert III in Non‑Emergency Patient care, Diploma of Nursing, or equivalent. Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedic) students may apply on completion of second year subject units
Experience working in the NEPT sector in an equal role desirable but not essential
Full Victorian Driver Licence
National Police Check, Working with Children Check and right to work in Australia
