Personal Care Assistant – Surgical ward The position is located at Cabrini Brighton One South, a 33‑bed mixed surgical and medical ward. This permanent part‑time role (15.2 hours per week) supports nursing staff in delivering safe and seamless care and in managing ward resources and equipment.

Key Responsibilities - Deliver care to patients under the supervision and direction of the registered nurse.
Observe patients and report findings to the registered nurse.
Respond to patient and family queries, referring to the registered nurse as required.
Maintain the patient environment, including bed making, restocking supplies and equipment.
Ensure patient privacy, dignity, and respond to emotional, spiritual and cultural needs.

Qualifications and Experience - Health Service Assistance qualifications or relevant credentials as outlined in the position description.
Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or Ward Assistant (preferred).
Experience working as part of a team in an acute hospital setting (desired).




High communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to develop trust and relationships with patients.
Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) and Police check required.
Mature and satisfactory background checks, including qualified references, National Police Check, and vaccination records, are mandatory.
