Payroll Officer | Casual Contract

We are partnering with a major national retail organisation to support their busy peak season. Located in Mascot, they are looking for a capability-focused Payroll Officer to join their friendly team on a casual contract basis, running from August through to January.

Operating under a hybrid working model, this role gives you a excellent balance of home and office work, complete with the convenience of free on-site parking when you are in Mascot.

This is a fantastic, hands-on opportunity to assist a dynamic team with core day-to-day payroll duties during their busiest time of the year.

Key Responsibilities
Assist the broader payroll team with end-to-end processing duties across high-volume pay cycles.
Process basic data entry, including new starters, employee master file updates, and terminations.
Review and validate incoming electronic timesheets, checking hours, leave applications, and pay adjustments.
Help respond to daily payroll queries from employees and managers in a timely,



helpful manner.
Support the team with general administrative tasks.

What we are looking for
Practical, hands-on experience in a payroll processing or payroll administration role.
Experience using Micropay is highly desirable (though general system literacy is welcomed).
Working Holiday Visa (WHV) holders with relevant payroll experience are welcome to apply.
Good attention to detail, robust numerical skills, and clear communication.
A quick learner with the ability to work well in a fast-paced team workplace.
