Outage/Mechanical Projects Manager – Power Generation

We're partnering with a Tier 1 global engineering organisation that delivers complex maintenance, upgrade and outage projects across Australia's power generation sector.

Due to continued project demand, we're seeking an experienced Outage Delivery Manager to lead a team of Project Managers, Site Managers and Engineers responsible for delivering mechanical projects on critical rotating plant.

This isn't a role for someone who's become removed from delivery. We're looking for a technically credible leader who understands what it takes to deliver outages safely, commercially and on schedule.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Projects, you'll oversee a portfolio of mechanical project delivery activities while supporting and mentoring a team of experienced project professionals.

Responsibilities include
Leading and supporting a team of Project Managers and Site Managers
Providing technical guidance across rotating plant outage and maintenance projects
Monitoring project performance, budgets, risks and schedules
Driving project governance and continuous improvement
Building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
Supporting successful project delivery from planning through execution





About you We're interested in professionals who have built their careers around large rotating equipment within the power generation or heavy industrial sectors.

You'll likely have experience with:
Steam, gas or hydro turbines
Generators and associated rotating plant
Major outages, shutdowns or overhauls
Mechanical project delivery
Managing contractors, labour and site execution
Commercial and financial management of projects

Leadership experience is key, however your technical credibility and ability to support experienced Project Managers is what will set you apart. We'd love to hear from people currently working within:
Power generation
OEMs
Mechanical maintenance contractors
Major outage or shutdown delivery
Heavy industrial project settings
