Role Description This is a part-time, in office Optometrist role based at the Specsavers store in Merrylands, NSW. The Optometrist will provide comprehensive eye examinations, including vision assessments, ocular health checks, and contact lens consultations, following current clinical guidelines and best practices.

Daily responsibilities include interpreting diagnostic test results, advising patients on suitable visual solutions, and collaborating with dispensing and retail teams to ensure seamless patient experiences. The role involves accurate record-keeping, adherence to qualified and regulatory standards,



and participation in store meetings and training. The Optometrist will contribute to a supportive, patient-focused environment, helping to improve access to quality eyecare in the local community.

Qualifications
Current registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Optometry Board of Australia and completion of an accredited optometry degree.
Strong clinical skills in refraction, ocular health assessment, and contact lens fitting, with the ability to manage a broad range of patient needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach and the ability to explain clinical findings clearly.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary store team, demonstrating collaboration, reliability, and professional integrity.
Attention to detail in clinical documentation and compliance with professional, ethical, and safety standards.
Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and adapt to recent technologies, diagnostic tools, and clinical procedures.
Experience in a community or retail optometry setting is an advantage, as is familiarity with electronic patient management systems.
