About the Role

Ultimate Plant Trailers is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in North Geelong. This role focuses on the design and development of heavy transport equipment, including plant trailers, low loaders, semi-trailers, and truck bodies. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, compliant designs while supporting production and driving continuous improvement across our engineering processes.

Key Responsibilities
Design and develop trailers, truck bodies, and heavy transport equipment
Produce detailed CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs
Generate CNC cut files and assembly documentation
Ensure compliance with ADR and relevant Australian Standards
Conduct FEA analysis, simulations, and prototype development
Work closely with production to implement and refine designs
Support tendering and custom-engineered solutions
Identify and implement process improvements
Provide technical support across engineering and operations

Skills & Experience
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (essential)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy transport,



trailers, or manufacturing
Proven experience with
Semi-trailers
Low loaders
Truck bodies
Deck wideners
Solid understanding of ADR compliance and manufacturing processes
Proficiency in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
Experience in 3D modelling and detailed drafting for manufacturing
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines
Good communication skills and team collaboration
