About the role As Head of Department, Science, you'll lead a team of teachers delivering A-level Sciences to students around the world. You'll set the academic standard, develop your team, oversee curriculum and assessment, and make sure every student gets a consistently excellent experience — whether they're learning in group classes, small groups, or one-to-one.

You'll report to the Principal and teach 12 of 22 periods,



with 10 release periods for leadership work.

What you'll do

Lead the Science department: meetings, learning walks, lesson observations, and professional development

Coach and support teachers across all learning modes, including new Da Vinci (1:1) teachers

Own curriculum quality and alignment with A-level specifications

Oversee internal and external examinations, moderation, and post-exam analysis

Monitor student progress and lead interventions where needed

Champion strong digital pedagogy across the team

Teach Science classes yourself, modelling excellent practice

About you

Qualified Science teacher (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) with robust A-level experience

Proven leadership or middle-leadership experience in an academic setting

Confident with digital learning platforms and online teaching

Skilled coach who can develop teachers and lift outcomes

Data-literate, organised, and able to balance leadership with teaching
