Role Overview Fire Safety Engineer – Transport Team, Melbourne Responsibilities - Deliver fire safety engineering solutions across transport and buildings projects, supporting utilisation across both sectors.
Lead and contribute to fire engineering design, analysis and problem‑solving using techniques such as CFD, risk assessment and pedestrian modelling.
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate fire engineering into major infrastructure and building projects.
Provide technical guidance and collaborate with colleagues to grow capability within the team, including mentoring junior engineers.
Contribute to a growing fire engineering capability in transport, helping shape the future direction of the team.
Engage with clients and project teams in a proactive, solutions‑focused way, supporting delivery and identifying opportunities.
Qualifications - Registered or eligible for registration as a Fire Safety Engineer (NER + relevant state registration such as Victoria RBP).
Approximately 5–7+ years’ experience in fire engineering, with the ability to work autonomously.
Experience in either transport/infrastructure or buildings, with a willingness to work across both sectors.
Robust technical capability in areas such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD), fire risk engineering, and performance‑based design.
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and contribute to integrated project outcomes.
Proactive, growth‑oriented approach, with interest in developing capability, supporting team growth, and engaging with clients.
