Financial Accountant needed for a 6 month contract just outside of Wollongong. Your new company An chance has arisen with a highly successful and fast-paced financial services organisation. Known for its innovative approach, high-performance culture and sophisticated financial operations, this organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join the team on an initial 6-month contract.

Working closely with senior finance leaders, you will gain exposure to complex financial reporting, product control activities and strategic business operations within a agile environment. Your new role Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of a broad range of financial accounting and reporting responsibilities, including:
Leading month-end close processes across multiple entities
Preparing financial statements and management reports
Completing balance sheet, payroll and cash reconciliations
Managing intercompany transactions and reconciliations
Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
Preparing monthly board reporting packs
Supporting regulatory and statutory reporting requirements
Performing trading activity reconciliations and P&L; analysis
Assisting with internal and external audit processes




Maintaining banking relationships and supporting payment approvals
Identifying process improvements and cost-saving opportunities What you/'ll need to succeed - CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent)
Demonstrated Financial Accounting experience in a complex environment
Strong month-end and financial reporting expertise
Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills
Experience with budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
Strong understanding of accounting standards and compliance obligations
Advanced Excel skills and strong systems proficiency
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting
Financial services, funds management, banking or investment industry exposure will be highly regarded
