About the Company Our client is a Sydney-headquartered financial services firm currently going through a period of growth, with reporting and governance requirements that reflect the scrutiny of a listed setting. Finance is a core function within the business, with direct input into decision-making at a senior level.
About the Role
This is a newly scoped FP&A; Manager position on an initial 6 month contract, with a clear path to permanency for the right candidate. The role covers forecasting, budgeting and management reporting, along with business partnering across senior stakeholders. Given current reporting requirements, there is exposure to board and investor-level reporting. Prior financial services experience is required given the complexity and regulatory context of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting cycles, working closely with department heads across the business
Prepare monthly management reporting packs, including variance analysis and commentary for senior leadership and the board
Partner with commercial and operational stakeholders to provide insight on performance, drivers and trends
Build and maintain financial models to support scenario planning,
business cases and strategic decision-making
Support the CFO and senior finance leadership with board papers, investor reporting and ad hoc analysis
Assist with process and systems improvement to support more efficient, scalable reporting as the finance function matures
Support ad hoc projects tied to broader corporate activity, which may include due diligence, structuring or governance-related reporting requirements
Key Requirements
CA/CPA qualified, with a background in financial services essential
Strong FP&A; experience, ideally including exposure to board or investor-level reporting
Advanced financial modelling skills, with confidence building models from scratch
Experience operating in a business with heightened governance, compliance or listed-entity reporting expectations highly regarded
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate financial insights clearly to non-finance audiences
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving workplace with competing priorities
Available to start on a contract basis, with genuine openness to converting to a permanent role
High attention to detail and a robust commercial mindset
