Responsibilities
Operating machinery efficiently, safely, and competently to ensure maximum output
Complying with Thiess policies and procedures
Responding to instructions from the Mining Supervisor
Excavating to the design boundaries of ore bodies, berms and pit walls
Ensuring floor levels are maintained
Minimising dilution and achieving design parameters within acceptable tolerances
Setting and maintaining high housekeeping standards
Carrying out pre‑start checks

Qualifications
At least 5 years of mining experience as a mining production excavator operator
Experience operating Hitachi EX and CAT machines essential




Experience loading dump trucks in a mining production workplace essential
Sound knowledge of ore mark‑ups and pit configuration
Skills to mine out benches and cut batters, leaving minimal material for final trim to design of batter angle
Proven compliance and commitment to health and safety at all times
