Overview
As a Contract Officer you support the entire contract lifecycle from set‑up to close‑out, helping to manage a diverse array of suppliers.
Responsibilities
Undertake market analysis.
Participate in end‑to‑end procurement processes.
Administer contracts, negotiate, establish, and manage them.
Build productive and respectful relationships with suppliers.
Establish, negotiate, and manage contracts within the department’s framework.
Maintain productive relationships with suppliers and stakeholders across government.
Provide advice on investment specifications, QA systems, and accountability.
Monitor service delivery and ensure compliance with contracts, guidelines, and legislation.
Conduct care service inspections including site inspections.
Identify, monitor, and remediate supplier performance issues and raise them when necessary.
Negotiate renewals, variations, and terminations of contracts.
Collaborate with internal business areas to ensure value and quality of delivery.
Prepare briefs, plans,
quotes, correspondence, and reports in a timely manner.
Commit to ethical behaviour, staff wellbeing, continuous improvement, and qualified growth.
Represent the department at forums with stakeholders and suppliers.
Requirements
Possession or ability to obtain a Queensland Public Safety Blue Card.
Travel is required, including to remote communities.
Current “C” Class driver’s licence.
Formal procurement, purchasing or contract management accreditation (e.g., Queensland Purchasing, QGCPO, CIPS) is well regarded or ability to obtain it.
