Blak Tapas is an Indigenous-owned, profit-for-purpose café dedicated to showcasing the native flavours of Australia while creating meaningful employment and training opportunities in our community.

We’re a busy café with a strong team culture, and we’re looking for a skilled and reliable Short Order Cook to join our morning kitchen team.

If you enjoy the pace of breakfast service, can work quickly and calmly under pressure, and take pride in sending out consistently great plates, you’ll fit right in.

About the Role

You’ll work closely with our Kitchen lead to support smooth, efficient kitchen operations. Your duties will include:
Fast, accurate food preparation
Working cleanly and efficiently during busy service periods
Keeping benches, equipment and storage areas tidy and organised
Following food safety, hygiene and WHS procedures
Assisting with stock rotation, labelling and general prep
Supporting the kitchen team wherever needed
Showing newer staff the ropes and helping them build confidence and skill





Shifts are scheduled between 6:00am and 2:30pm, Monday to Saturday, so early morning availability is essential.

Proactive — sees what needs doing and jumps in

Pay: $27.08 – $42.06 per hour
