Accounts Assistant (6 Month Fixed Term Contract), Beverley Kingston Recruitment are working with a well‑established financial services organisation in the Beverley area who are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a 6-month fixed‑term contract. This is an excellent chance for a finance qualified to join a supportive finance team and gain valuable experience within a regulated financial environment. This role will support the finance department in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal financial standards.
Key Responsibilities - Accurately record financial transactions using accounting systems and spreadsheets
Assist with accounts payable, including processing supplier invoices and maintaining accurate payment records
Perform bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies
Support the preparation of financial and regulatory reports, including month‑end and year‑end processes
Assist with payroll processing, including verifying timesheets and ensuring accurate pay calculations
Maintain organised and compliant financial records in line with internal procedures and GDPR requirements
Review and process employee expense claims in accordance with company policy
Support the finance team with budgeting and forecasting activities
Provide general administrative support to the finance department, including responding to financial queries
Assist with the preparation of documentation for internal and external audits
Ensure all financial processes adhere to regulatory and governance requirements Candidate Requirements - Previous experience in a finance, accounts, or accounting support role
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially
