About this prospect
We are looking for an experienced HVAC Technician (Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Mechanic) to join our team full-time. You will maintain, repair, and install HVAC systems while working closely with engineering and operational teams to ensure smooth and effective operations.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair air conditioning and refrigeration systems on ships and marine/offshore vessels
Diagnose faults and carry out troubleshooting of HVAC systems, chillers, compressors, and ventilation units
Perform routine inspection, servicing, and preventive maintenance of HVAC equipment
Handle refrigerants safely, including charging, recovery, and leak detection in compliance with regulations
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and system diagrams
Ensure all work complies with safety standards, marine regulations, and quality procedures
Coordinate with marine engineers and technical teams during onboard repairs and dry dock operations
Maintain accurate service records, reports, and maintenance logs
Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide timely solutions to minimize downtime
Assist in installation and commissioning of new HVAC systems and upgrades
Ensure proper functioning of temperature control systems for cargo and onboard environments
Requirements
Proven experience as an Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Mechanic / HVAC Technician
Diploma/ITI or relevant certification in HVAC
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, chillers, compressors, and ventilation systems
Experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and system diagrams
Familiarity with refrigerants, leak detection, and safe handling practices
Understanding of safety standards and compliance requirements
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Willingness to work in marine settings, onboard vessels, or offshore locations
·Flexibility to handle emergency repairs and irregular working hours
Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
