We are seeking a reliable and motivated Scrap Metal Yard Labourer / Forklift Operator to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a rapid-paced setting and takes pride in working safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Operate a forklift to load, unload and move scrap metal safely.
Sort and separate scrap materials, including copper, brass, steel, aluminium and other recyclable metals.
Receive and inspect incoming materials.
Prepare and complete paperwork, including tax invoices, delivery dockets and other documentation.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.
Provide excellent customer service when dealing with suppliers and customers.
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
Skills & Experience
Current Forklift Licence (LF) with practical operating experience.
Previous experience in a scrap metal, recycling, warehouse or industrial environment is highly regarded.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Robust communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Physically fit and capable of manual handling.
Reliable, punctual and committed to workplace safety.
