We are currently seeking a skilled Steel Fixer to join our team full-time at the Western Harbour Tunnel project in Rozelle. As a Steel Fixer, you will play a crucial role in the tunnel's construction, ensuring that all steel rebar is properly placed and secured in concrete structures to provide strength and durability.
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret construction drawings to determine the layout and placement of steel reinforcement
Cut, bend, and secure steel rebar using tools such as rebar cutters, benders, and tie wires
Install steel cages and mesh for concrete pours
Inspect and ensure the quality of completed work to meet project specifications
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on the construction site
Requirements:
Prior experience as a Steel Fixer in the construction industry
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
Proficiency in using rebar cutting and bending tools
Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
Ability to work effectively in a team setting
Valid construction White Card
