Our client is a casual dining and takeaway restaurant specialising in authentic Indian and Pakistani cuisine, offering a wide selection of biryanis, curries, grilled dishes, naan breads, and traditional sides. The business is committed to preparing fresh, high-quality meals using authentic spices, premium ingredients, and traditional cooking methods while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer service.

The business is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Cook to join their kitchen team and assist in preparing authentic dishes while maintaining consistent food quality, kitchen efficiency, and compliance with food safety standards.

The annual salary for the Cook position is $79,500 to $80,000.

Duties include:
Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Indian and Pakistani dishes, including biryanis, curries, grilled meats, and vegetarian meals.
Follow standard recipes and cooking methods to ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation.
Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, marinating, seasoning, and portioning meats, seafood, vegetables, and spices.
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is safely cooked and meets quality standards.




Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, fryers, tandoors, and stovetops safely and efficiently.
Inspect food supplies for freshness and quality and report stock shortages or spoilage.
Assist with menu preparation by preparing sauces, rice, breads, accompaniments, and garnishes according to business standards.
Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen by complying with food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures.
Store food correctly using appropriate labelling, rotation, and temperature control to minimise waste.
Portion and plate meals attractively for dine-in, takeaway, and delivery orders.
Assist with stock control by receiving deliveries, storing ingredients, and monitoring inventory levels.
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of customer orders during busy service periods.

Qualifications:
Should hold a Certificate IV in Hospitality.
Must possess two (2) years of experience.
Indian and Tandoori knowledge and experience is required.

Pay: $79,500.00 – $80,000.00 per year
