This role is for a agile, energetic collaborator who is willing to join our fish shop on a casual basis. The key role is to provide excellent customer service and assistance with preparation of seafood products.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Customer service (greet customers, assist them with any queries and questions)
Look after display appearance and stock rotation
Process payments by using cash register and POS
Assist with fish trimming, de-boning, and portioning
Assist with preparation of seafood products (chowder, pies, fishcakes, salads etc.)
Maintain cleanliness in the store, including the kitchen, as well as outside areas.
Skills and experience
Proficient in English (both verbal and written)
Excellent communication skills with good phone manners
Strong customer experience focus
Understanding the importance of health, safety and hygiene (food safety certificate advantageous)
Proven ability to work autonomously as well as being a collaborator.
Physically fit (be able to work long hours on feet and to lift up to 20kg).
Previous food retail and/or food preparation experience is essential.
Be able to work in a busy workplace and under pressure.
Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude are essential.
