Belmore Road Coffee Pty Ltd operates a café in Balwyn offering breakfast, brunch, café-style meals and coffee. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Cook to join our kitchen team and help deliver consistent, high-quality food throughout service.

Key responsibilities

· Examine ingredients and prepared food to ensure freshness, quality and suitability for service.

· Prepare and cook breakfast, brunch and café-style menu items in accordance with recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards.

· Regulate the temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers and other commercial cooking equipment.

· Season food during cooking and portion, plate and garnish dishes consistently.

· Prepare food for customers with special dietary requirements, including allergy-aware modifications, in accordance with kitchen procedures.

· Store food in temperature-controlled facilities and follow safe stock rotation, labelling and storage procedures.

· Maintain food safety, hygiene, cleaning and sanitation standards in accordance with applicable requirements and business procedures.

· Coordinate preparation and cooking tasks with the wider kitchen team to support efficient service during busy periods.

· Assist with menu planning,



estimating food requirements, stock control and reducing food waste.

· Assist with training junior kitchen staff and kitchen hands in food preparation and safe kitchen procedures.

Skills and attributes

· Sound knowledge of commercial food preparation methods and kitchen operations.

· Ability to produce consistent, well-presented dishes in a fast-paced café workplace.

· Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, allergen and sanitation requirements.

· Good time management, organisation and attention to detail.

· Ability to communicate professionally and work effectively as part of a team.

· Availability to work mornings, weekends and public holidays on a rotating roster.

Qualifications and experience

· Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent relevant qualification.

· At least one year of relevant full-time work experience (or equivalent part time experience) as a Cook in a café, restaurant or similar commercial kitchen.

· Experience preparing breakfast and brunch dishes is desirable.

Pay: $78,000.00 – $82,000.00 per year
