About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Senior Accountant to join our growing tax and advisory firm. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives on managing client relationships end-to-end and delivering high-quality tax compliance and strategic advice.
As a Senior Accountant, you will take full ownership of your client portfolio—from initial engagement through to ongoing advisory—acting as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of clients across various industries, handling all accounting and taxation matters from start to finish
Prepare and review financial statements, income tax returns, BAS, and other compliance obligations
Provide proactive tax planning and business advisory services
Liaise directly with clients to understand their financial position, goals, and challenges
Ensure compliance with Australian taxation laws and regulatory requirements
Identify prospects for business improvement and value-added services
Supervise and mentor junior accountants, reviewing their work and supporting their development
Maintain strong client relationships and deliver exceptional service
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of experience in public practice accounting, preferably within a tax-focused firm
Solid knowledge of Australian tax legislation and compliance requirements
Proven ability to manage client relationships independently
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
Experience with Handisoft
