Key ResponsibilitiesCoffee & Beverage Service
Prepare high-quality espresso coffee and specialty beverages consistently.
Maintain coffee quality, grinder calibration and espresso machine standards.
Ensure effective service during busy breakfast and lunch periods.
Train team members in coffee preparation and service standards.
Customer Service
Deliver exceptional customer service and build relationships with regular customers.
Handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints professionally.
Maintain a welcoming and positive atmosphere.
Team Leadership
Supervise Front of House staff during shifts.
Delegate daily duties and monitor staff performance.
Provide coaching and support to team members.
Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
Ensure staff comply with company policies and procedures.
Café Operations
Open and close the café according to company procedures.
Manage daily cash handling and POS transactions.
Monitor stock levels and communicate ordering requirements.
Ensure cleanliness and presentation of the café at all times.
Maintain food safety and hygiene standards.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety requirements.
Administration
Complete opening and closing checklists.
Report maintenance issues.
Assist with rostering when required.
Support management in achieving sales and labour targets.
Essential Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Barista.
Minimum 1 year in a supervisory or team leader role.
Ability to produce consistent high-quality coffee under pressure.
Solid leadership and communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to multitask during busy periods.
Valuable understanding of café operations.
Current Food Safety knowledge.
RSA preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Pay: $26.44 – $30.00 per hour
