About the Role
As a part of our commitment to develop industry specific talent, we are seeking a full time Design Engineer – Fire Systems, to join our Queensland Minor Works & Projects based at Murarrie.
In this role you will be responsible for:
Using computer assisted design/drafting equipment (CAD) and software to develop designs.
Undertaking calculations and developing specifications of fire protection equipment including fire detection and alarm systems, mechanical suppression systems.
Application of the National Construction Code (NCC) and various Australian and International Standards applicable to the fire protection industry.
As a system designer, you will play a crucial role in creating productive, compliant,
and effective fire protection solutions.
Ensuring all designs adhere to relevant codes and relevant industry Australian standards.
Working together with our clients to deliver their requirements on time and to specification; and
Spending time on site to determine system requirements and assist/co-ordinate field staff requirements.
To be considered for this amazing and rare prospect, you will have completed qualifications to allow fire design within Queensland’s building regulations, along with a minimum of 2 years work experience in a Mechanical or Electrical Design role within the Building Industry.
You must have a “can do” attitude, a willingness to learn, take pride in the quality of your work and be proficient in the Microsoft suite of products, AutoCAD and/or Revit. Candidates must also have permanent work rights to work in Australia.
