BDS Mechanical is looking for qualified Truck and Diesel Mechanics and experienced Fitters to join our Cairns team in full-time, permanent roles. BDS Mechanical Repairs Aus is a leading provider of mechanical, auto-electrical, and welding services, supporting clients across Queensland and Western Australia. With a fleet of more than 160 mobile service units, we deliver dependable in office and workshop solutions across a service area spanning over 600,000 km².
The successful candidates will possess the following:
Relevant trade qualification
Diagnostic experience
Strong fault-finding skills
Experience with trucks and trailers
Heavy earthmoving experience (advantageous)
Good communication skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Truck licence (preferred)
Additional skills, experience, tickets, and licences will be highly regarded
Your duties will include:
Diesel engine diagnostics & repair, major and minor rebuilds
General Repairs/maintenance works – Trucks & Trailers/4×4’s
Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems
Checking vehicle lighting systems
Test driving vehicles to gauge performance
Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles
Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist
