ABOUT YOU
Minimum 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen
Demonstrated experience in food preparation, cooking, and service
Certificate II in Kitchen Operations or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
Possess a food safety/food handling certification or are willing to obtain
Understanding of and commitment to relevant food safety legislation
Solid attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
Ability to work as part of a diverse team and achieve results together
Friendly with a consistently positive attitude and able to communicate clearly with all levels of staff
Flexibility in working hours including mornings, early afternoons, weekday, weekends, and public holidays. No night work is required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Village Bakehouse is looking for a Cook or Kitchenhand to assist our chefs in delivering high quality food to our customers each and everyday.

You will be an experienced and creative Cook or Kitchenhand,



that is passionate about food. You will possess a high level of attention to detail, enthusiasm and be eager to work with us to enhance the overall dining experience for our customers.

Reporting directly to the Store Manager your responsibilities within this role will include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with food preparation, assembly and food storage as required.
Cooking of key ingredients and produce.
Assisting our chefs with developing seasonal menu items.
Ensuring ingredients are tagged, date-labelled, covered, stored, and rotated effectively.
Perform general cleaning to maintain a protected and hygienic work environment including maintaining cooking utensils, dishes, cutlery, and other equipment.
Ensure that Food Safety procedures are followed.
Maintain food safety standards and possess a sound understanding of and commitment to relevant food safety legislation
Positively represent and be an ambassador for the Village Bakehouse brand
