As Ranger in Charge (OO6) - Cairns South, you will lead a team of rangers and oversee the planning, delivery and coordination of a broad range of park management programs and projects. The role includes managing visitor, asset, fire, pest and estate management activities, while ensuring work programs are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with operational priorities. You will provide leadership and mentoring to staff, manage resources and budgets, maintain records and reporting requirements, coordinate emergency response activities, and build productive relationships with Traditional Owners, community groups, government agencies and other stakeholders. Robust leadership, communication and organisational skills are essential, along with experience managing people, projects and operational outcomes in a energetic workplace.
The successful applicant will be comfortable balancing field-based work with administrative responsibilities and have a genuine commitment to conservation, customer service and workplace safety. A current unrestricted manual driver's licence is mandatory.
