Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Restaurant Supervisor to join our team at our vibrant and authentic Japanese restaurant in 1/239 King St, Newtown NSW 2042. As Supervisor, you will play a vital role in managing daily front-of-house operations, supporting staff, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for all guests.
This is a hands-on leadership position, ideal for someone passionate about hospitality and Japanese cuisine, with a commitment to service excellence and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily front-of-house operations, including staff supervision and guest service
Lead and motivate the team to deliver outstanding hospitality and authentic Japanese dining experiences
Train, mentor, and support staff to uphold service standards
Manage reservations, seating plans, and guest flow during peak times
Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally and promptly
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations
Assist with rostering, stock control,
and inventory management
Work closely with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth operations
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in a supervisory or team leader role in a hospitality setting
Strong understanding of restaurant operations and front-of-house service
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Passion for Japanese cuisine and culture
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification (required)
Desirable:
Experience working in a Japanese or Asian-style restaurant
Barista or sake/wine service knowledge
Hospitality qualifications or certifications
