About Us

On A Roll Sushi Birtinya is a busy and well-established Japanese restaurant committed to delivering high-quality Japanese cuisine and excellent customer service. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our team on a full time basis.

Key Responsibilities
Design and develop menus based on customer demand, seasonal ingredients, kitchen capacity, and business requirements.
Estimate food, labour and operating costs, and assist with ordering and controlling food supplies.
Prepare, season and cook a variety of Japanese dishes while maintaining consistent quality and presentation.
Supervise the quality, taste, presentation and portion sizes of all dishes throughout preparation and service.
Consult with management, kitchen staff and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations and menu execution.
Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance and training to kitchen staff.
Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations.
Assist in recruiting,



supervising and training kitchen staff when required.
Monitor the proper storage, freezing and preservation of food to maintain freshness, quality and safety.
Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:
At least 1 year of relevant work experience as a Chef.
Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen operations and food safety standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
A positive attitude with robust teamwork and communication skills.
A passion for producing high-quality food and maintaining high kitchen standards.
