Qualifications & experience
Certificate III level qualifications or equivalent in Wall and floor tilers or other relevant field.
Recent minimum of three years of relevant experience working as a in Wall and floor tiler in last five years.
A valid White card and driver license with your own reliable vehicle.
Ability to work independently and without supervision.
Ability to work effectively as part of team and provide leadership to a small team.
Ability to problem solve and have critical thinking skills.
Positive oral communication skills.
Tasks Include:
Reviewing plans, measuring surface areas, as well as laying out the tiling work after marking the surfaces.
Calculations for material requirement-sheeting, tiles, adhesive, grout etc.
Preparing surface of the walls and floor which may involve removing of old tiles, plaster and flooring, filling cracks and holes.
Clean surfaces.
Application of adhesive onto prepared surfaces, cutting tiles, tiling and grouting.
Shape and cute tiles with the Tiler cutter tool. Some tiles needed to shaped from edges and corners according to the surrounding objects such as pipes and fittings.
Ensure that tiles are correctly cut and shaped
Preparation of floor area and levels
Ensure tiles are correctly aligned and placed
Preparation and application of waterproofing as required
Lay coloured tiles in patterns and mosaics.
Lay floors with mixture of compositions such as cement, terrazzo and granolithic
At last grout tiles and remove excess material.
Checking all finished works and signing off completed works
