Hector’s Bakery is growing, and we’re on the hunt for a Senior Baker to join the crew at our Richmond site. This is a hands-on role for someone who’s passionate about great product, great process, and leading a team that takes pride in what they put out every single day.

About the role

As one of our Senior Bakers, you’ll work closely with the Head Baker to help lead production across our bakery range — including bread, donuts, and other baked goods — while keeping standards sky-high and the team moving as one.

You’ll be right in the action — mixing, shaping, baking, frying, finishing, problem-solving, coaching, and keeping the bakery running smooth from start to finish.

You’ll play a key part in:
Supporting the Head Baker to lead daily production across bread + donuts
Maintaining quality, consistency, and speed in a high-volume setting
Training and developing bakers and production team members
Helping manage stock levels, ordering, and prep planning
Keeping systems tight: cleanliness, organisation, food safety + workflow
Contributing ideas to improve products, processes, and output
Making sure every product going out is Hector’s standard — every time





Hours

Current shifts are overnight (approx. 8pm–4am).

What we’re looking for

We want someone who brings a robust work ethic, calm leadership, and serious pride in their craft.

You’ll need:
Proven leadership experience in a bakery / production environment
Strong experience producing bread and/or donuts in a high-output setting
Solid knowledge of doughs, shaping and baking techniques
Confidence working with donut production (mixing, proofing, frying, finishing)
Great time management + ability to stay cool under pressure
A proactive, solutions-first mindset
Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
High standards — you care about the details and the finish
