About the Role
MSS Security is seeking Casual Security Officers to join our team at the Launceston Magistrates Court. This high‑profile site plays a pivotal role in the justice system. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of court staff, visitors, and the public.
Responsibilities
Maintain a secure workplace within the Magistrates Court.
Screen individuals entering the court building and ensure all security protocols are followed.
Monitor and manage courtroom security during hearings.
Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents involving disruptive or aggressive behaviour.
Work collaboratively with court staff and law enforcement to manage high‑risk situations.
About You
We are looking for individuals who possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining the safety and security of the court environment.
Ideal Candidates Will Have
Previous experience in security or a related field.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deescalate tense situations.
A skilled attitude and a high standard of personal presentation.
A readiness, confidence and assertiveness to manage challenging situations.
Requirements
Certificate II (or higher) in Security Operations.
Valid Tasmanian Security licence.
Valid First Aid and CPR certificates (or willing to obtain).
Full Australian working rights.
Working With Vulnerable People (or willing to obtain).
