We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Speech Pathologist to join our allied health team in Nhulunbuy, Northern Territory. This permanent, full-time role is essential for providing high-quality, culturally protected and responsible speech pathology services to our diverse population. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders, contributing to the overall health and wellbeing of our community.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessment results.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding communication strategies and therapy techniques.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
Participate in professional development and training activities to enhance clinical skills.
Advocate for patients’ needs within the healthcare system.
Support and supervise staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology.
Current registration with Speech Pathology Australia.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a clinical setting, with a focus on paediatric populations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team workplace.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
