Metroll, a leading Australian manufacturer of metal roofing, cladding, rainwater, structural, and fencing products, is expanding its Townsville team and looks for a hands‑on Manufacturing & Logistics Operator. The role combines manufacturing, forklift operation, warehouse duties and logistics support in a fast‑paced environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will play a key role in the manufacture and distribution of steel building products, ensuring customers receive quality products safely and on time by supporting production, loading and unloading trucks, operating machinery and managing movement of products on site.
Key Responsibilities
Operate forklifts safely to move raw materials and finished products
Load, unload and secure steel products for transport
Operate manufacturing machinery to produce roofing and steel building products
Conduct daily equipment inspections and pre‑start checks
Pick, pack and prepare customer orders for dispatch
Maintain a safe, clean and organised work setting
Provide excellent customer service to customers collecting orders
Comply with all workplace safety,
Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and load restraint requirements
Assist with general warehouse and production duties as required
About You
Current forklift licence (essential)
Current Australian driver’s licence
Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, logistics or building products (highly regarded)
Basic computer skills
Strong commitment to workplace safety
Reliable, punctual and motivated with a positive attitude
Physically fit and comfortable working in a hands‑on workplace
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of the building or steel industry (desirable but not essential)
