Department of Police, Fire and Emergency Management, Tasmania Police, Southern District – Hobart.

Employment type: Fixed‑term, full‑time (up to 24 months)

Hours per fortnight: 73.5 hours

Salary: $79,356 to $97,793 per annum under the Tasmanian State Service Award.

Responsibilities

The Legal Practitioner will undertake litigation on behalf of the Department and provide legal services and support, including litigation management, legal advice, drafting documents, representing the Department in court, and supporting departmental legal affairs.

Qualifications & Requirements

Admitted, or qualified for and entitled to be admitted, to the legal profession under the provisions of the Legal Profession Act 2007.

Arson and fire setting
Sexual offences
Dishonesty (e.g., theft, burglary,



breaking and entering, fraud)
Deception (e.g., obtaining an advantage by deception)
Violent crimes and crimes against the person
Malicious damage and destruction to property
Trafficking of narcotic substances
